Northumbria Uni/anime societies

I'm just starting Northumbria Uni, and wondered if there's any anime societies? Or any in Newcastle at all? And anyone else starting there?

whats a "northumbria"
Formed in the 7th Century by the merger of the two kingdoms of Bernicia and Deira. The southern part was later lost to the Danelaw, then it became an Earldom subordinate to the Dansh Crown. Later, following the Wessex led reconquest of the Danelaw, it was recognised as part of England by the Anglo-Scottish Treaty of York in 1237.

You're a student and you can't use google to find this stuff out for yourself? Standards are dropping :p

Smaller University societies tend to come and go, so don't take this as proof the society still exists. Better to check at the Fresher's fair or whatever your university does to promote its societies during the first week.

My University didn't get an anime society until third year, but I don't honestly believe I would have gone along. Seek out friends with the same interests as you by all means, but societies are for the massively keen, and you'll either end up watching all the crap you've already seen, or the most obscure crap the leader can find with which to impress you all with.
