Several new UK anime release dates have been appearing online lately and there is one surprise.

.Hack//Legend Of Twilight #1 (Beez): June 26th

My Hime #1 (Beez): June 26th

Patlabor The Movie (plus Limited Edition version) (Beez): June 26th

* Saiyuki Requiem (ADV UK): September 18th
* = Previously unannounced for UK release.
To keep up with the ever changing, hyperbolic world of UK anime release dates, be sure to keep your eyes trained firmly on our consistently updated UK DVD release schedule.

EDIT: Our forum user GrantM has also noticed that ADV UK have recently submitted Makoto (Voices of a Distant Star) Shinkai's The Place Promised In Our Early Days to the BBFC, seemingly confirming their intent to release it in the UK.

What exactly do you mean by hyperbolic?

Pretty much: ever changing, busy, exciting, crazy. I wouldn't put too much thought into that last paragraph though, it's just me blagging a link to make it look fun ;)

I will be getting all of these, especially My H!ME, good to see it finally has a UK release date.
Saiyuki ive really been looking forward to after reading the manga, though wouldnt it have made more sense of ADV to realease the first TV series rather than the movie??

Since it's not a galaxy behind the US release I'll probably pick up Mai Hime too, and if the budget goes well: Patlabor.

OMG OMG OMG OMG etc etc etc...

Excellent news for a Sunday evening!

Been waiting to hear ADV's new UK titles for ages, and this seems very promising.. they are catching up with ADV US very quickly and are nearly there!

As for Saiyuki, it's absolutely brilliant news! I have the first manga book and have been wanting to pick up the whole series for a long time, it looks awesome. I saw a trailer for the TV series as well on one of the Excel Saga disks when i went to the USA a bought the box set :D and it looked fantabulously sexy! Strange though i must say that they have the movie first... I will be waiting for it to come to the play.com sale and get the TV series to watch first when it comes out (which is almost definate).

On a side note... mentioning the play.com sale, for anyone who is interested (Neptune i know buys most things at £10 rather than £15, like me :D), the sale has the entire Martian Successor Nadisco series (separate disks) all for £7; all of Kiddy Grade for £10 and the first 2 volumes of R.O.D TV for £10, plenty more stuff too! I picked up KG volume 5, which now completes my collection, YAY!, and the first 2 ROD volumes, can't wait for this. Sadly, i cannot be bothered to make a link so you will have to do a bit of work.. well not really, anyway.

Places Promised has been on my want to see NOW list for.. well since i heard about it, will be picking this up when i get some more money!

And yay for my thought coming true! I knew Beez had said somewhere on last years London Expo that .hack//LOTB and Mai-HiME was coming to the UK, and it came true! Yay for Beez *bows*. I still have to find that news post on this website though...

Dissapointed to not see a Wolf's Rain artbox release though :/
On the other hand, a limited edition version of Patlabor is excellent!
Can't wait to see what other titles they make into that (word i won't even attempt to spell).

EDIT: I'm guessing Saiyuki the TV series will be ADV's big news for the London Expo, along with Places Promised

I suspect the Saiyuki licences are a response and attempt to capitalise on MVM's licence of Reload. A release like this could be mutually beneficial for them.

It is nice to know My Hime is on its way over here close to the US release date. It would be nice to see more of this kind of thing happen but ADV seem to respond to the US market rather than trying to understand the UK market; MVM have no direct link to any distributor in the US and hence rely on sublicencing, which naturally limits their ability to release on a similar timescale to the US. Only BEEZ and Manga, it seems, have the infrastructure in place to be able to offer titles close after (or before) their US release dates.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Place Promised... get a UK release date - apart from FMP FUMOFFU and the forthcoming Gilgamesh there hasn't really been much from ADV that's really grabbed my interest.

It's good to see Bezz are re-releasing Patlabor too. The Limited Edition looks a bit pricey but at least they're giving buyers the option of an extra-special version.

I'm glad to see Patlabor back. But I thought that Manga Entertainment had the liscense for that? I'm sure I remember a trailer for Patlabor (or it could have been patlabour2 - I'm not sure) On the beginning of one of My manga VHS's, slating Manga entertainment as publisher.

The license ran out or something for alot of stuff Manga Ent have published.

and i am kinda angry at the Patlabor Movie release as i bought the Patlabor Movie 1&2 boxset few years ago....sigh....those extras are really kool but kinda pricy.
