Now Aniplex has announced a new two-part OVA, the first of which is to be released in Japanese cinemas this December.
For now, only the details of the first OVA has been revealed. Its title is the “New Kyoto Arc" (新京都編), and is a remake of the battle against Makoto Shishio but from kunoichi Makimachi Misao’s perspective.
Fans will be happy to know that Director Kazuhiro Furuhashi and Studio DEEN are returning to animate the new series, as well as most of the original seiyuu cast reprising their respective roles with the exception of Hajime Saitou, with Hirotaka Suzuoki being replaced by Ken Narita.
