New "L" Death Note spin-off on the way

A new spin-off movie from the live action theatrical adaptations of Death Note - centered around the odd but fan-favourite detective "L" - has been publically announced in Japan and is already set for release in 2007.

The two live action Death Note movies; a twisting and thrilling battle of wits between a couple of enigmatic geniuses either side of the law, have proven huge box office success in Asia.

Cool, L is easily my fave deathnote character. Heres hoping they do a spin off anime of him as well.

Ditto on wanting an L anime, though only if written well. I just don't know if L's a strong enough character to support a series about him, but eh, time will tell. Yet to see L: the Movie afterall..
