I like the new 4G iPod Nano design compared to the squashed 3G iPod Nano

I am going to be getting a new mac when I get myself sorted out and I get my pay rise sorted, so I may well buy an ipod at the same time. I really like the idea of the 32GB touch but the memory just does not seem enough for me. I have a 20GB Archos at the moment and that does not even hold about 25% of my CDs. May end up with a classic, bought one for my dad last crimbo and it seems nice enough.

I had a first gen classic (still do actually), a shuffle (weird gift) and now I have an iPhone (I hate phones, but I actually use this one for the first time).

I thought that I needed all my music on my iPod so I was annoyed when I first got a smaller one. What I do though is put all my 3+ star rated tracks on the iPhone and sync a random selection of the remainder each night when I charge it after work. I don't miss the rest and if I want something specific, I can just put it in a playlist and sync that.

Husband's finally getting a Touch now and he's going to have to start doing something similar.

I think I'll get an ipod touch, but to be honest, I'd rather ebay the older version but one with more memory rather than a newer one with less memory for the same price.

I would just get the classic, but I want to be able to read eBooks and browse the internet really easily. Also, in theory, the ipod touch will 'last longer' - Soon most ipod's will be touch screen, if not all, so there's no point getting a classic now; And then in less than 1-2 years, it being 'out of date'.

I have never wanted or needed a mobile really, so don't have one. However knowing/seeing people with the iphone I am starting to waver, although having to pay so much a month for a contract and only using it for the net is a bit too much for me. Although I think there is going to be a pay as you go soon but the phone is a lot dearer.

You could always buy one, and jailbreak it - It's pretty easy :p

I always told myself I'd not get an iPod (that I'd stick with less popular mp3 players)

But that 8GB Orange Ipod nano might just swing the balance.

It's so prettty

Well, i recently bought a Ipod Touch, and if i had 1 word to describe it, it'd be: excellence!

its brilliant beyond what i only thought it did,
It uses Safari internet to get onto the internet.
has a button directing you to youtube
can import movies/music vids/Misc video's
import pictures,
plays music whilst on the internet or looking at pictures.
can set your own wallpapers,
lightweight and easy to use,
looks stylish,

only fault i have with it is common for touchscreen, the smudging look :/

awwell, stick it in your pocket and the next time you look at it the smudges will be gone :p

The older iPods were far more reliable. God knows how many times I dropped my iPod Mini and it never once stopped working or have any problems. My 30GB iPod video (3rd or 4th gen I think) has crashed/frozen many times, and it won't even let me put videos on, even when I convert them to MP4/iPod format.

I'll be getting a good MP3 player next time.

I have a few spare styluses for one of my DS's (yes I have two), so that would prevent smudging. Head over to GAME and pick up some styluses.
