The Boss
The January issue of Wani Books' Monthly Comic Gum magazine has confirmed that production on a new Ikkitousen television anime series, Ikkitousen Xtreme Xecutor, has been green-lit. It will be the fourth television series based on Yuji Shiozaki's Ikkitousen manga about girls in fighting tournaments. (The manga runs in Monthly Comic Gum.)
Update: The official website has launched. The "XX" of the title stands for "Xtreme Xecutor." The character Bachou Mouki (Aya Endo) - the loose analogue of the Ma Chao character from the Chinese legend Romance of the Three Kingdoms - will appear for the first time in the anime along with original characters not seen in the manga. The main cast from the previous anime series will return with the original voice actressess.
Koichi Ohata (Ikkitousen: Dragon Destiny, Burst Angel, You're Under Arrest: Full Throttle) is directing and supervising the series scripts. Rinshin (Ikkitousen: Great Guardians) is designing the characters along with chief animation director Junji Goto (School Days, School Days: Magical Heart Kokoro-chan). Yasuharu Takanashi is providing the music as he did for Ikkitousen: Dragon Destiny, Ikkitousen: Great Guardians, and Gantz. GENCO is producing the project, and TNK is in charge of the animation in collaboration with ARMS.

If it's an improvement from the slap-stick s***hole that GG was, then I may be considering watching it. The new character on the website (ANN) seems interesting in design. As long as there's decent fighting and not KanuXXXRyubi fanservice non-stop (or the likes of it).

As long as it's like the first 2 series, I'm fine with it. But you have to expect something new out of the book, or else it's not really a new series.

The manga and 1st series are a laugh, so this could be worth checking out.:) It'd be handy if someone would release series 2 and 3 over here however. I thought sex and violence was supposed to sell well?

You can get part of Dragon Destiny from UP1 if you want that (I know I do). It's probably R1, so you'll have to wait for R2 if that's what you're after...

R1, R2... Dont bother me much tbh.

And V+S=£? Maybe if it wasn't purposely slapstick, over-used and mind-numbingly cliche... But I've got hope for this new series.

Ikki Tousen - Dragon Destiny Vol. 1 R1 is out (or should be) I am just waiting for Axelmusic to get it is stock to get my pre-order to me.
