No matter how much I try to familiarise myself with it and accept that it's there, that Double Play band still makes me weep tears of hate.

Mine only shipped today from Amazon which is a little annoying. Not that I really need to watch it immediately I guess.

The double play band is ugly, but since I only ever really see the spines anyway I'll probably safely ignore it.

I always use Amazon. I've switched to HMV recently because people were getting things early while I was waiting ages (Clannad was shipped from Amazon on the day of release and arrived around 11 days later). So naturally Angel Beats wasn't shipped until release date and took a few days to arrive, and now Space Show.... I'm darned whatever I do. Might as well go back to picking things up from store on release date.

Ditto about "stock allocation" for me. Having tried HMV thanks to their 20% offer, I think I'm more than happy to stick with Amazon getting anime releases to me for the day of release - or at worst the day after.

Is that the thing FUNi did that plays the eps back-to-back without credits?

and without the voiceover man recaps, otherwise I would have made a snarky comment about Conan's skip button being busted.

The UK release is authored by Madman (hence the lack of the marathon feature), and is a PAL release, so it's got the 4% speed-up if you still want your episodes to go by faster.

Yeah, it's a really nice feature, like I said, not a deal breaker but there you go.

And it's not being there is a Madman thing?

I was suspecting as much, since they do their own authoring so it wouldn't automatically be there just because FUNi did it; they'd have to duplicate the feature.
