Nemacon 2011

I will be going, it will the first con I have ever been to. I have put off going to cons in the past because of the crowds and I was worried I wouldn't be
interested in any of the events because I dont cosplay.

From what I heard it was a bit manic last year, so am a bit nervous, but going am going to go anyway. Its a short bus ride away from me and I want to support local events.

Speaking as someone who was there last year, it was a bit chaotic, but it was the first year and thus you would expect a few teething troubles at the very start of such an event. No doubt things will be much smoother this time around.

I will be going with my sister who will be dressed as a hunter from Left for Dead on one day and Kai from Heavenly Sword the other day. I will be dressed as myself with a bag of goodies ( I hope )

Hmm... somewhat annoyed that some things I'd like to attend to clash, but on the whole everything seems OK. The AMV competiton is the main thing I'm taking part in.

Hi guys! I had lots of fun yesterday even though I was probably one of the oldest there ( What happens to Anime fans over 25? does somebody come
round to your house, take your dvds away and hand you a pipe and slippers?).

I made a Momiji doll. Mine was suposed to look like a Ninja but it looked like
a mutant blob when I finished with it. My Sister made one that was a Pirate
girl complete with eyepatch (damn those art students).

I was a bit dissapointed that UP1 didn't turn up (apparantly they broke down on the way ), but I still managed to get Code Gease R2 ( part 1 and 2) and
Mushishi. Also picked up a new Totoro for my collection and a signed comic
from a cool looking steampunk guy.

Im looking forward to the AMV comp today, am very interested in seeing what people managed to put together.

I was annoyed that UP1 failed to turn up, but if they broke down they might arrive today. Still managed to get some the complete Kanokon and the OVAs as well, plus the first volumes of Laon, and Spice and Wolf (the manga not the novel).

I'm taking part in the AMV contest. It's my first ever attempt at making an AMV (I've made a Hetalia video).

If you are worried about there being few manga fans under 25, I'm 24 so I'm worried about those people coming to my house.

I'm back and I am very tired. I didn't get to see the amv's sadly. We went up to the room late and 2 staff blokes were packing everything away early as they didn't get many entries. I wish they had let them loop
around a few times.

I really enjoyed the web comic session with Tab, I didn't realise how much work went into them before.

The stage fighting class looked fun.

I was a bit worried about the cosplay skit comp a friend saw it
last year and told me it had been a bit rubbish. You could really tell who had put effort and practice in and who had not. I got sick of girls coming on and doing very similar dance routines by the end of it, got old a bit fast.

Sataday was the best day for me, but tbh I enjoyed both days and was glad I went.

I was also at the webcomic talk and was interest to see the amount of work that went into everything.

I got an honourable mention in the AMV contest, failed to win it sadly, but many people seemed to like it. I've uploaded my entry onto YouTube.

I came in just after your one started and I thought it was the best one I managed to see.

@Corra: Yeah, the skits with girls dancing to similar sounding music was boring but some of the others really were good and even got the miserable git that I am smiling and laughing. And yes, the skits last year were for the most part, rubbish, and that's putting it kindly.

I also managed to win what seemed the only piece of anime related thing on the charity auction that was older than a decade as well (the show, not the merch), the Fist of the North Star Gashapon. One of them is in half and there's no Ken though :(

Overall, a lot better than last year.

I liked that. I'm not familiar with Hetalia, but I know enough to find it quite
funny.

Im a bit annoyed this morning, I had some time before work starts at 12 and thought I would test out my dvd's. I have hacked my dvd player to be
region 0, but for some reason its decided that it will only play region 2 again. Going to have to fiddle with it to watch my new stuff
