Need help of finding the name of a anime...

It was about 1994, Hungary and I watched this anime in question on a VHS rental. Was about a boy and his dog who lost his father to an attack by a grizzly bear. Whole show is about the dog if I remember correctly tracking down the grizzlies and coming into counter with a pack of dogs etc etc and they fight the grizzlies all the time. It would mean the world to me if anybody could come up with the name of this anime. I wish i remembered the name or if it was exclusive to any country in specific but I have no clue.

I didn't know there was an anime of this show!

In case you're interested - The first 3 volumes of the manga were released in America by Comics One a while ago. Apparently the series is pretty long, but they never finished it.
 
Its extremely difficult to get hold of such an anime like Ginga Nagareboshi Gin nowerday.. that anime was made even before i was born.. :lol: THe anime episodes are availible on youtube along with the brand new sequal.. or you just sniff around on google to try your luck.
