Need help choosing: Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero: WT??

Well ive just been hunting around the net cause im really wanting to get one of the music games for a console and im looking between Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero WT.

Currently im heavily inclined to go to Rock Band cause there seems to be a nice variety of artists I like, and Guitar Hero's main selling point (The write your own music) doesnt appeal to me because I already play guitar and drums; I can do it myself in RL and its way cooler.

So what im asking is, am I making the right decision on going for Rock Band when it gets realeased??
 
Funny you should make a thread about this since i was just thinking about this earlier after seeing this news post on gamespot http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6195620.html :p I would say go with Rock Band, i've had fun with both games (though i don't own Rock Band personally) plus if you start saving now when it comes out over here next year you should be able to afford it :lol:

I just read that and you know what, it disgusts me. The music industry now is just a bunch of Money-Greedy assholes who want to squeeze every last ******* penny out of things they can. What the **** are they whining about?? I mean ******* hell. This just makes me want to download more music illegally, just to stick it to them. If they start charging too much for the DLC then il just have to get pirates with the DLC on; That'll **** em.

Just so you know, the spoiler tags are where ive used strong language. I admit ive gone overboard, buts its pissing me off so; If you dont wanna read my swearing just dont look. Sorry.

Oh don't worry about it that's what i thought as well, and it sucks that developers are going to get charged more for something that was working fine till this..i mean where they complaing when games like GTA were using music?

Here's what a friend instructed me to do when we discussed the same thing. [I'm going to go ahead and say you don't have Rock Band though.]

Wait until Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero comes out at this point Rock Band will be cheap so buy Rock Band the game but not the equipment then...

1. Buy Guitar Hero World Tour with better instruments that work with Rock Band
2. Buy Rock Band 2
3. Get all music from Rock Band and Rock Band 2
4. ????
5. PROFIT!

You can't go wrong, srsly.

How will I get the music from Rock Band 1 cause I dont own it. And why are the Guitar Hero instrument better than the rock band ones??

Its ridiculous. They see a chance to milk money out of people, and they take it. Lets all go torrent some music.
 
Rock Band drum peddle breaks easily, my friend is currently on his third and the guitar is uber stiff, you know, that one thing you move. Also, if you have Rock Band like the ACTUAL game, you have a code you intput on Rock Band 2 and it'll take all songs from Rock Band and add them with Rock Band 2.

Let's torrent some music? Already do.

I didn't realise they were going to add that feature, that is actually a very good idea, way better then paying to download the songs again.

If torrenting music means causing pain to Warner for that stupid statement then by my guest :twisted:

Im assuming you mean the Whammy bar? Could I just by a guitar hero guitar when I get rock band? Will they both be released by xmas? Cause basically I was gonna pick up Rock Band for xmas cause Guitar Hero doesnt look as good and Rock Band has WAY better songs. Also is your friend quite foot heavy on his pedal??

And yeah. I torrent music too, but I think just to piss Warner off il go torrent MORE. :p
 
I don't think a release date has been set for the UK version its out in the states in september (360 version anyway) They are adding cymbals to the Rock Band drum kits with Rock Band 2

I'm just waiting for someone to come in and say that will only make things worse :p but still this will teach them a lesson :evil:

Yeah. Well im pondering over the instrument thing; the people on Amazon gave it horrible reviews about how the guitar breaks/misses notes and the drum pedal sucks. So can I just buy guitar hero guitars, just the rock band disc. THEN when I have cash buy guitar hero drums?? I dont think anyone I know will want to sing.
 
I have to say, I prefer the Guitar Hero instruments, but Rock Band is the superior game. Therefore, I advise following Lupus' advice.
 
I'm so in love with the RB2 setlist, GH4 will need to do something major to sway it in my favour.

It's not like I won't get both...just saying.

Rock Band's set list does look amazing doesnt it :) :)
