Is this the set that's coming to the UK?

This is for R1, sorry I'll add that to the post. I would doubt very much that Manga Ent would grace us with such a release as this.

;_;

Damn, I don't even watch Naruto, but I would have bought that set anyway!

What's the movie like, anyway?

Totally different to the series (story-wise that is), I remember it was one of the first fansub movies I watched... I got a massive bag of Maltesers which watching it and thought how incredible it was : D. Can't wait for this release 8)

So, it doesn't require that you've seen the series, then, really?

Well it is placed around episode 70 (I think). Erm it's like a side story when the characters have developed as far as they have. It's more action than anything, and it has nothing to do with the main story what-so-ever. Kind of hard to answer that question actually. Anyone can enjoy it without seeing the series though, so yeah I guess you can watch it without seeing the series o_O

This news would interest me greatly if the 2 year filler year and shite known as Shippuden hadn't kiled all my interest in the show.

This is the only Naruto movie I liked. I think UP1 might be needed for this.

and CitizenGeek, All you would need to basically know is the premise of Naruto. Chakra is a power which builds up inside you and They are ninjas.

You can get the Manga Ent. releases for very cheap now so you might want to buy the first volume to check it out.

I'm glad I cancelled my order of the regular edition and upgraded to this 1 *drools* those extras are alot more exciting than what Viz put in the SE Uncut boxsets which I've skipped on and got the regular editions of.

Well, I've watched about 40 eps on Jetix (the cuts aren't actually that bad, are they?) and I don't think I fancy collecting a series that spans hundreds of episodes on DVD.

Yeah actually. That fight with the feminine guy who used the mirrors is edited so much that it doesn't even look like the same episode as the original.

Well, I haven't watched the un-edited, and that battle was still pretty effective IMO. So, it didn't really bother me.

Some parts lose all sense as well. I've seen Naruto react without getting punched before. And its just plain confusing.

The first Naruto movie is decent enough, and the second one has some solid action. Can't say I was mad about the third though, didn't feel like the plot got underway until the second half of the film.

Still the first one is plenty of fun, and since its self contained almost anyone can enjoy it. :)
