SOUL - High self-esteem, creative, outgoing, gentle, at ease

I have "phases" in life where I listen to loads of a particular style, I've had the following "phases" in the lat few years:
Jazz and blues for one year or so;
Rock and Heavy Metal for most of my life;
Indie would be my current one.

Did you had any phases as well? what's your current preference? Do you think it matches? I consider myself as an introvert, had-working at ease person. I'm not sur I consider myself creative anymore, I've been into the system for way too long >.>

That's bull. Going by that I have high self esteem and low self esteem, not outgoing and outgoing, not hard working and hard working, not gentle and gentle.

ROCK/HEAVY METAL - Low self-esteem, creative, not hard-working, not outgoing, gentle, at ease

Mind you, im not the lazy type as i am a hard worker...sometimes. Thats the only sort of music i've ever listened to, everything else is just not noisy enough lol

I see where you're coming from here. I reckon my taste in music is probably as eclectic as yours, which makes this sort of thing too much of an over-generalisation to be useful. I've gone through phases over the years but now what I listen to is mostly determined by what mood I'm in at the time.

If that was actually accurate i would be:

BLUES - High self-esteem, creative, outgoing, gentle and at ease
JAZZ - High self-esteem, creative, outgoing and at ease

however i expect its not. Just because the main music i tend to like is Jazz and Blues doesn't mean i don't like anything else, and in liking other things, that would mean the likes of high and low would clash with one another. Music is like everything else, you can't tell what a person is like souly on what they like. You think the person can only be creative and out-going if they like certain genres of music or TV program, or how they dress? I never have, so i don't see the point now.

JAZZ - High self-esteem, creative, outgoing and at ease
CLASSICAL MUSIC - High self-esteem, creative, introvert and at ease
DANCE - Creative, outgoing, not gentle
ROCK/HEAVY METAL - Low self-esteem, creative, not hard-working, not outgoing, gentle, at ease

Okay, yeh, lets go with that :roll:

I'd say it's not uncommon for people to have different phases in life. Everyone knows at least one or two people with very similar musical taste and completely different personality. Even thought I listen to many different styles of music in a single day, I do tend to listen more to a certain style / band and yes, it is usually linked to my overall mood. I just htought it would be interesting to post this here an read your thoughts.

Sure, sure, sorry if it sounded like I thought it was a complete waste of time!

I'm not sure how my (occasionally random) taste in music is indicative of my personality - it probably says more about my current lifestyle and experiences rather than my self esteem, introversion, etc. For instance, I've been listening to a lot of Mogwai, 65DaysOfStatic and God is an Astronaut lately because instrumental stuff is good as background music when I'm writing; I listen to a lot of Yoko Kanno and Jrock because they feature on my favourite anime shows, and so on.

I think someone's taste in music says a lot about them but it's probably a lot more complicated than the personality types that particular study highlights. Of course, different people have different ways of categorising music genres too!

Never said it was something like that, sorry for giving you the wrong idea. I just find it funny that someone would even bother to try and generalize people like that.

A good friend of min once criticized me saying that my eclecticism is proof of my lack of personality. I think that there is only one style of music that I don't have at least one or two songs I like and that would be enka music (japanese traditional country music) for those of you wondering what the hell's enka try this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsWRRhxL838

DANCE - Creative, outgoing, not gentle
INDIE - Low self-esteem, creative, not hard working, not gentle
ROCK/HEAVY METAL - Low self-esteem, creative, not hard-working, not outgoing, gentle, at ease
CHART POP - High self-esteem, not creative, hardworking, outgoing, gentle, not at ease

Well, that certainly makes sense and is not confusing at all... :roll:

Right so my wide ranging musical tastes probably mean I am as messed up as I think.

It can be fun listening to my MP3 player at work on random it can choose from goth - metal - jazz - mediaeval - classical - punk - spa - industrial - rock - pop - indite - electronica - shoe gazer - psychobilly - cheesy stuff - prog rock - ethereal - just plain weird stuff. In fact about the only stuff not on there are crappy boy/girl bands, R n B , sappy chart pop singers and rap, although there is some body count.

Body count's in the house! I liked that judgement night album, although it wasn't only body count...

*I've just did a quick search and realized body cont wasn't in the judgement night album*

Anyway, people's responses in here led me to believe at least those who decided to reply are pretty eclectic persons. Is it a treat to anime fans?
