I don't know if this is 'old news' to many of you, but the promise of a new addition to the Macross franchise is damned exciting.

Interested yet? No? What about another Shoji Kawamori/Yoko Kanno collaboration? Better put the champagne on ice, people.

After 'Plus' the series seemed to get a little too mystical about the power of music and human culture for my liking. I hope they go back to something less BS this time, and that it gets the UK release that the entire Macross back-catalogue lacks.

If the new anime is more like Plus and it doesnt include any storyline or characters that would overshadow the official western cannon (yuk), then a release over here could happen. Especially with hollywood looking at a live action movie of the frankenstein version.

But thats just boring

Id prefer something with a bit more meat to it. Like another war. Although I remember hearing that macross zero nealy got a release but the negotiations fell apart.

What would the chances of a US release be? I know that over there they got the original Macross series as well as the Macross 2 OVA. Neither of which we have over here

Oh wow, excellent stuff. Again, I have that feeling in my head that I've read this somewhere before.. but I don't know where.

Anime News Network does have some interesting little pages in the enclyclopedia; I recently found a sequel to the Ninja Scroll movie randomly.. I should have made a thread in the general forum about it but I didn't..

I wonder what other interesting things are floating around, there's that t.A.T.u anime that got cancelled I see many times too.
