Thanks to the fine detective work of our forum user Valha, it has emerged that Play.com have posted tentative new dates for two Gundam movies. Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counter Attack and Mobile Suit Gundam F91 are both set for a DVD release on the 12th of September, courtesy of Beez.

Me, I'm wondering how successful Char's Counterattack is going to be when so many people won't have watched Zeta Gundam...

True, although we can hope the new DVD releases of Zeta over in the US bring the series to a wider audience via imports, although a UK release seems very unlikely. Still, even if it isn't sucessful, I'll be getting it. May bring back memories...

I think I'm going through a terribly severe case of Gundam-addiction at the moment.

P.S. kupoartist, I've started watching Turn A Gundam and i'm really enjoying it.

well if you ask anyone a year ago if they though we would get Char's Counterattack over here i bet they would have said the same thing.

Yes, but Zeta is a series, and so I presume would be more expensive to release over here, and may have a more limited audience willing to collect the whole series. A full-series boxset, however, could work.

I saw Chars before i saw Zeta. I had no problem following it.

I find it more likely that they'll cop out and give us the Zeta Movie Trilogy... however, it'll be a year or so before the theatrical release in Japan of Zeta Gundam 3, so perhaps they'll give in and release the full series. It is after all one of the more reknowned series...

And on the subject of Turn-A, it'd be nice if beez saw fit to release the Earth-Light / Moonlight Butterfly compilation movies. I hear that the former is a bit rushed (which makes sense, because the first half of Turn-A is all development and little action) but nonetheless, beez do seem keen to at least give glimpses of Gundam in the UK via compilation movies (after F91 I hear they're going onto Last Blitz of Zeon, the 0083 compilation that they never bothered with in the US). The Turn-A movies have a far better chance of being released here than the actual series, but the fact is that beez aren't probably inclined to take the initiative and sub/dub the release, so I guess we have to wait for the US to release it first :(

Well it done well in the US long before Zeta came out so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Ive been holding off seeing CCA and F91 until the DVD's where out so i just hope they dont get delayed repeatedly like Encounters in Space is :(
