Monster Licensed?

Thousand Master
Was just listening to the latest Anime World Order podcast which was an interview with Richard Epcar in which he said he was playing the detective in the up coming dub of Monster. Now know people have been wanting this for ages so thought you'd like to know.
Here's a link to the podcast and the announcement is toward the end (about 20 minutes in)

Monster has been licensed for a while now (I can't recall who by), but they have no interest in releasing the series.
They're waiting for someone to buy the license off them.

Guessing then that it has been bought then, if they have hired VA's and all.

I think Viz hold the license, but the information surrounding it is a bit sketchy from what I've read around the net.

When/if it's eventually released over here. I hope it comes out quickly. With it being a longish series. We'll be waiting years for a final volume. I'd rather forget about it for now and be pleasently suprised when I find out again in a few years time.

::wipes memory::

This is one of those series that needs to be released in chunks or season box sets rather than single volume releases otherwise it will probably just fall flat from the get go.

For some reason I can hear Johnny Yong Bosch working as Tenma.

I suspect I'll pass on this as I've been collecting the manga (which is brilliant!). Unless they're very different...

They are identical. Almost shot for shot.
True, true.

I read the manga first and was a little wary about watching the anime after the read being such a good one. I would only suggest you leave it a while before you watch it tho. Like Sy said, it's almost identical. It would be like picking up the first volume again straight after you finish it. Twas what I did :S

Yeah, This is exactly what needs to be done. My failure on the series lies in the fact I watched one episode sparred over weeks. It lost its edge.

I will buy it, when the release comes.

I've watched half of the anime and read three volumes of the manga. As it was on-going and I had loads to watch I've dropped for the time being. If this gets a release, it's coming to my shelf for sure :)
