Missing In Action

i disagree completely but as always the music industry is based on opinion not fact...

i think M.I.A. is doing something completely original, ok she's not 1 of the best vocalists but she is an amazing song writer, most of her lyrics have strong political messages and still manage to be fun and all her songs have some amazing beats

and considering the life shes had, escaping sri lanken civil war and wat have u lol she's ******* living it up pimp style

M.I.A. <3

Wrong, there are many musical truthes out there.

Led Zeppelin = Legends, undisputed.

Jimmi Hendrix = Most talented guitarist ever

Kate Nash = Talentlass hack, who simply played into the whole ****** London accent wave of 'music'.

Rap = Anyone can rap, but only a smaller percetage can rap well.

I like it, I've always liked M.I.A.. Also, as has been proven in the past, people on this forum don't understand music without guitars, anime fans are supposed to listen to gothic rock music and manufactured Japanese pop with bubblegum vocals. There is no middle ground.

HOLYSHIT, PAUL POSTED CASUALLY.

I was going to come in here saying that M.I.A. should go M.I.A. FOREVER... but then I listened to it and thought.... I don't like it, personally, but I still think it's pretty good. I was expecting a song full of drug references from Skikes though. ;/

This doesn't apply to me, I listen to anything as long as it sounds good.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. As for the song, I don't mind it. Has a "bollywood" sound to it [IMO]. Which isn't my thing really. I more or less listen to anything, Some songs for the lulz and others just because I naturally take to it. I find some songs/bands/artists are just like that.

I put it down to the fact that anime appeals to a largely teenage demographic. As a general rule your taste in music broadens until your collection eventually begins to resemble that of your parents'.

I actually realised that good modern music can be achieved without guitars after listening to Some Great Reward but these days I'll give anything with a tune a chance (Last.FM is great for this btw).

I don't actually dislike rap but so much of it is insincere, commercial drivel I'm not surprised there's a backlash to it (which can be applied to most stuff that's new and popular). I even think Eminem is actually really talented and clever...maybe it's the chav following that puts so many would-be fans off. Sadly I can't comment on the M.IA. link because Youtube isn't working for me at the moment.

funny u should say that because her last single was actually a cover of sorts of a song from an old bollywood movie. and as i side note i cant stand rap at all! i more into electro, techno, new wave and industrial but i think M.I.A. mixes it all well.
