Mindgame, the latest anime movie to be produced by experimental production house Studio 4C has swept the awards at the "Fantasia film festival"; taking home (amongst others) Best Film, Best Director and Best Script.

Also, Anime Vision has noticed that Frames Per Second magazine have posted a two-page interview with Mindgame director Masaaki Yuasa.
Masaaki Yuasa: Since I was a child, I was always fascinated by animation, but at the time I didn't know the exact difference between comics and TV animation. When I was in junior high school, I watched the animation of Hayao Miyazaki, Castle of Cagliostro. When I watched it, I was so fascinated by this animation film. So that was a turning point for me. And then after I graduated junior high school I decided I wanted to be an animator. Because at the time I wasn't clear that you can make a living as an animator.
Read the full interview. As of now, no US or UK release of Mindgame has been announced.

I can't wait for Mindgame to get a R1 or R2 DVD release, everything I've read suggests this is a very artistic film and yet it seems to be winning a lot of plaudits for its story too.

I assume it won't only be anime companies like ADV or Geneon going after Mindgame, there will be many bigger indie labels (like Optimum or Tartan) having a look too.
