Mayo Chiki Getting Dubbed!

MVM has answered my question and confirmed that Mayo Chiki is getting a dub. :D

I think this is fantastic news what do others think?

(It was answered on their twitter account)

I forgot to mention I thought this was good because I could not see an American company listed on ANN to do with the show only Madman & was wondering if they have dubbed it covering costs between them??

Could be but Sentai haven't announced it yet and they pretty much announce everything straight away and have been getting loads as of late.

(crosses fingers they don't do an ADV again  )

That is an interesting question - who is dubbing it?

Siren Visual are, I don't think Mayo Chiki has been licensed by Sentai, nor any other USA distributor at the moment, it's only been licensed in Australia and here. I asked Tony the same question.

I think it'd make more sense to commission a US studio so the dub would be an easier sell to a US distributor should they come a-callin' (enabling Siren to recoup some of the costs). I'm surprised Siren are dubbing Mayo Chiki at all, tbh.

Isn't that pretty much what MangaUK did with Redline and Welcome to the Space Show?

It was Anchor Bay, Manga's parents in the US who dubbed redline.
Innocence is a better second example.

It's licensed by Madman, not Siren. They've not announced anything about doing their first ever dub - they've not even announced a release date for it yet.

Last time I heard an Aussy accent in an anime was Strange Dawn. Worst dub I have yet to hear really, but I might check this out just to compare.

The only Australian accent I've heard in anime was a really, really bad one from Steve Blum in the original 3x3 Eyes dub. He played Jake McDonald in the second series.

Actually, just remembered there's a character with an Australian accent in Ghost Hunt. Only watched the first couple of episodes of that, though, so I don't remember how good or bad it was.
