Website and Trailer

Thats right is time for another video game to movie release, but this one has some amount of hope attached to it, especially as the games themselves were very movie like, with flowing stories and cut scenes which were highly cinematic.

Synopsis

Coming together to solve a series of murders in New York City are a DEA agent (Mark Wahlberg) whose family was slain as part of a conspiracy and an assassin (Kunis) out to avenge her sister's death. The duo will be hunted by the police, the mob, and a ruthless corporation.

I gotta say I am very excited about this especially with the game being like a graphic novel and we have all seen how well these have been turned into movies with the likes of Sin City, 300, Watchmen and The Spirit

Sweat, one of my all time favourite games too. Little suprised to see Wahlbreg as Payne like. Not who I thought would be best for the character (plus Wahlberg is in my bad books at the moment, after his performance in "The Happening", however I suppsoe Max is quite a wooden person anyway.)
Damn I'm looking forward to this film. Any clue to when it'll be released McIcy?

Please no not a PG-13..... Max Payne (video game) has some of the most disturbing scenes ever, the bloody nursery level with the baby screaming and crying still creeps me out to this day

I just checked around and it is a PG-13 :( And apparently the directors and cast wanted it to be a PG-13 as well meaning no uncut version (though we'll see about that as most films get released on dvd a while later claiming to offer new matrial)

Ah well trailer looks promising enough just hope i get to see this one this time, missed seeing Hitman in the cinema

I just hope, as sick as this sounds, they keep in the brutality of how his wife and little kid were murdered as well as all the other sick **** from the game. I expect them to probaly end up doing that part as like a newspaper clipping flashing up at the beggining or something describing the deaths.

Pff, I'm not looking forward to this. I ADORE the original Max Payne game, and found the sequel lacking in all but action. The characters, script and atmosphere were seriously wacky, and very cool. They're going to ruin my childhood dreams, much like the Hitman movie. :(

Intresting to hear about this as I love the games. So heres hoping this will have the same feel to it even if it is a PG-13. Although I am somewhat :? as to those dark angel type creatures that appear in the trailer... whats that all about?

They're always trying to force these PG-13 ratings now which seems to be rarely a good thing in the long run. Maybe the atmosphere will be enough but looking from the trailers it looks much 'cleaner' than I expected.
