The British arm of Manga Entertainment has announced via its Twitter account that it will launch a new social media
hub in 2011. The hub will include news updates and features as well as video content. According to another Tweet, the site's editorial team will be primarily be in-house, with occasional contributions from others. The company will also work on its Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube presences.

Until one learns news of what sort of video content Manga plan to deliver, it is difficult to gauge how fruitful this service will be. At present, I cannot immediately foresee how much this will differ from their current services.

Hmm. I'm definitely intrigued, but largely agree with Zin. Is this going to be like an integrated version of their current twitter updates etc? Will the "editorial content" just be glorified press releases? Will we actually get more of the shows that Funi doesn't let us see the simulcasts of here in the UK?

Even if he is including CR and Youtube though, that's promising. I would certainly hope that it at least means them doing more to get us access to all of Funi's streaming.

Alternatively it could mean a lot more than that ;).

Happy 2011 folks - look forward to speaking to you all more soon too :D.

I don't believe they'd go into this unless they'd conducted some kind of basic market research and realised there is one for them. Anything that gets us closer to having access/information even a tenth of what America has is a good thing. I certainly will be exploiting this as a resource. And give us more, Manga UK, MOAR!

You know what, this company over in France has an interesting subscription-based video portal going on...

It really is great to have friendly, forthcoming and personable people like you and Jerome communicating with us, and companies that believe in social networking.
