Manga movies on Anime Central

Is there any chance that as the episodes of anime programmes near their end , that the possibility of showing some of the great manga movies that are out there for instance :- Akira , the Patlabor series , or even the ground breaking Ghost in the shell movies could be shown until such time as new seasons of episodes can be aired on anime central ? :) :) [/b]
 
I highly doubt that anyone other than the people who work at Anime Central would know the answer to this question.

Therefore I suggest you post of their forums and see if you get a reply. There's probably an ongoing topic about movies there too, not that I've checked.
 
From what i remember from both the launch conference and the chat with the lead guy (whose name i've commited to oblivion) it is a possibility for the future, but no the foreseeable one.
 
Heh, when pigs fly imo. I'm actually wishing that AC should die... since it's badly run imo. But I want AC to change my mind with good anime that breaks from the norm (we need more harem and Romance =P)

Hah, never thought I hear anyone saying that anime needed to break from the norm with more harem and romance stuff!

Blame me, I'm a romantacist =P But it seems that every anime on TV so far is just action >.>

Haha. Didn't he mean "Manga Entertainment" movie's since he mentioned Akira and GitS (which are both Manga Ent releases). I'm not sure about Patlabor.

As with what Chrono said, Why would they put Romance on when its actually trying to show how "hardcore" anime can be. They are going for a teenage to adult male audience, I believe it would take quite some time before people are comfortable with anime and know exactly if they like it or they don't. Sadly I don't think anime will ever be mainstream as such, Its getting more popular though, I can firmly say that. The only way I can ever see anything like that getting air time is if they set it into blocks "Shojo Hour, Shounen and Seinen hour - Possibly a Movie hour" as well.

It'll never happen, They have got some decent titles anyway.

Girl is an abusive bitch
Boy loves her anyway
Some seriously unrealistic **** goes down
They meet again by chance
Start getting to know each other
Girl starts having feelings for boy
But then enter like 47326261 other females
Now they all want to sleep with the male lead
etc.

Predictable and ******. Only good harem = Tenchi/Love Hina, and they're not even all that good.

I don't mind the repetetive story~ as long as there's some uniqueness to back it up. Negima was a good example of a unique harem.

Heh which is why I don't usually watch them. Buut I wanna give them a try again, hence why I asked for them.

But I'm all for romance anyway
