Manga hints at a Naruto Unleashed Ultimate collection

The Boss
Manga UK hinted at a Naruto Unleashed Ultimate collection, which will have all the 51 discs of the series. If you watch a disc per week, this means you could almost spend a whole year watching Naruto.

This could leave me in an interesting predicament as I have the first 2 series sets (which I got on a whim). I would be inclined to suggest that this would be about the same price as getting the rest individually...

Depending on how they price this, I'll be all over it =)
I don't really expect a bargain though. Manga seems to be drawing a line on how cheap thei releases are for the big sellers (Death note, naruto and bleach not really dropping much in price after all this time has passed).

I figured around £80 - £120, actually. Probably more. Considering you can get 26 episodes for £60 sometimes, the same price for 220 is ridiculous.

I might be interested, but I hear (including in this thread) that the subtitles for the Japanese audio track are inaccurate as they're for the English dub. That would hold me back quite a bit, as I find the English voices for Naruto too annoying. I have watched a lot of anime English dubbed, some when a perfectly fine Japanese subtitled track is on the same disc, so I'm not a "must be Japanese!" guy, but one bad voice or script error will send me to the original Japanese track. In this case they're both the same, one I'd get script inaccuracy and annoying voices, the other I'd get the same script inaccuracy while being lied to about what the characters are saying...

So basically, if Manga say this release will fix the "dubtitle" problem, I'll get it. But since this is just a collection of past releases, I guess Naruto will still be off my interest radar.

When I saw them mentioning a Naruto Box set on the twitter I thought they were joking :D . I can't think of one anime box set with more episodes on it here or in the USA.

If a box set was ever to be released I guess an RRP close of £200 which would matches the price you see for other TV series box sets of simlar size like friends, west wing, ect.

With the original Naruto DVD releases being some biggest ever Anime seller ever in the UK. I don't think they are going to bother fixing the subtitles to please for a few a handful of buyers.

Just for reference, the dub got better in almost every way around episode 30 or 40.

The subs were odd, Manga hadn't stuck a deal with VIZ at that stage so for the first season we have Pot Noodle ramen whilst with the second season we had out of time English dub language subtitles. However, apart from the timing sometimes, the actual translation itself is pretty decent. I have no idea about these later releases, I think the subs got fixed to the official VIZ translations somewhere along the line.
