Manga Bible

Hi, I work for Hodder and Stoughton Books, who are publishing The Manga Bible. Please see www.themangabible.com for more details, or read on…

The Manga Bible is a unique adaptation of the full Bible. Its creator is Siku, one of Britain’s leading comic book/concept artists, having worked for 2000AD; producing titles such as Judge Dredd. He has also worked for Marvel UK and COM X and has been credited on a number of computer games such as Evil Genius. He is currently a final year undergraduate at the London School of Theology.

From Adam and Eve through to the formation and adventures of the first ever church, the stories of the Bible make a brilliant graphic novel. For further details, as well as Manga Bible competitions, ecards, downloads, and much much more, please visit www.themangabible.com.

Thanks very much
Jonathan

The full bible? Every single story and all the Psalms and Proverbs? Even the "normal" stories such as the book of Ruth? Must be a pretty big book.

This may be interesting.

Being somebody who has his own set of beliefs and not a Christian I find this idea both intriguing and funny. Weather it will catch on is another matter :P

Mmm, nice idea I guess, but I figure it'll be a tough sell - the size of the market, i.e. christians who are into manga and actually want a manga version of a book they already have, is gonna be quite small.

The artist of the book was on the heaven and earth show (don't ask) a while ago, i personally didn't take too the style of it, even though i consider him a fairly good artist from the drawing of some random from the bible the people made him draw.

Plus i am atheist and therefore doesn't really bother me what the hell they do to the bible, because i just won't take any significant notice. :D

But yeah, if you want to make the bible interesting for your kids buy it, or if your a religious education teacher buy it, otherwise i don't think anyone else would be purchasing it.

There are also four different versions, from my knowledge there is one bible, with two sections, old and new. or, haha, the bible in tankobons is how its done :)

One last thing is that people need to know what the hell manga is to buy it, a Graphic Bible or similar probably would have been a better title

When I saw it in the shop, I thought it was some kinda guide to manga and they were calling it a "bible" because it's meant to be so complete. But...like...no.

I'm seriously bewildered as to why anyone thought this was a good idea.

Good luck though...I guess.

Wha manga bible
Does this mean we get jesus with big guns with a abnormally large breasted sidekick who says teacher every 2 pages.
If it does I'm buying.
