Maison Ikkoku

I thought I'd continue the trend of old/ish series discussions we seem to be having now. What did people think of Maison Ikkoku? Personally I enjoyed it but I found the relationship between Godai and Kyoko to be a little rushed and forced into the last ten episodes. It's like they go from being not that close friends to getting engaged in the space of a couple of episodes. I also found the other house mates very annoying very quickly.

Oh yes good old Masion Ikkoku! I watched all episodes a year ago. I like the relationship but the background characters really ticked me off of this show, and because of their mess it became Godai mess and then Kyoko and Godai would'nt talk to each other until another 5 episodes etc. What I mean is that this show could have been a little bit shorter and I also perfer the manga because the anime puts tiny bits of fillers here and there.
No really I think that the ending was great unlike other animes the only problem is like what you said they rushed it. One of the main I like about this show was the animations, audio, and I really like the 80's openings. I would recommend this to anybody who like romance comedy show and if you have seen Ranma you will defenitly like this show.

Edit* This is basically the mother of all romance/comedy types. In the relationships of maiso ikkoku their other pairings in the anime too which ended as good and some bad but mostly good. (I am trying to hide spoilers so you are just giong to have to watch the show yourself)

I always see this anime out to buy on dvd and have never heard anything about it to warrant me risking my money, but if Shh227 is right in the above review I might have to get hold of a copy

I don't think it's realistic that they did the things they did and then Godai still considers them friends. Especially stuff like threatening to tell Kyoko where he was working. The mother especially annoyed me. I don't think I've wanted a character to die more in any other anime. Everytime Kyoko answered the phone or took in a breath of air she always had to enquire into it. I really wanted Kyoko to say, "Um.. I'm the manager, you're the tenent. It's none of your f***ing business what I'm doing."

Remember the egg episode.
