I was looking at some on line retailers for the forthcoming releases of volumes 5 and 6 of Mai Hime. For a reason unknown to me I looked at Amazon USA and noticed a reviewer’s comments. They had started by saying that they thought that 6 was the last volume but that it wasn’t and that Amazon didn’t seem to know that either.

I thought there were just six too. Can anyone clarify this for me? I know I could quite easily find out for myself but I think I’ve already stupidly risked spoiling the end of the series by doing what I did earlier. (I often find myself playing a kind of game of chicken by reading reviews of series I’m watching).

While on the subject, I’m really enjoying this series but I do feel as if it’s something of a guilty pleasure. It’s all the fan service really and that at a glance, it would appear to a lot of people a show aimed at a very young audience.
 
If I recall correctly, Mai HiME was spread over 7 DVDs for its US release and over 6 DVDs for its european release.

Well I would hardly call it a guilty pleasure. Its just a really enjoyable series. Its gorgeous to look at, the fights are spectacular (in fact some of them are really intense), and despite some odd plot direction it turned out right good and plenty entertaining.

(PS - to those that own vol3 of the region 1 my-hime dvd, i swear on the back of the case it lists one of the extra's as textless opening, but on the actual disc it is the textless closing....odd and these kinds of mistakes really bug me -_- )
 
What?!! Another box? I got the volume 1 collectors box inc t-shirt, and now there’s another box with volume 7? Well I hope this box is a bit sturdier than the one supplied with the first disc. That was one of those flimsy card ones where the joints aren’t sealed, like those that Manga use for their box sets. I can’t even put it on the same shelf as the rest of my perfectly angled box sets.

I can’t wait to get my hands on this collector’s edition box. Can’t ever remember looking forward to April so much! Please be sturdy, PLEASE be sturdy!!

That box cirtainly is worth drooling over!! One to add to my list I think ^.^
 
The box certainly looks amazing, too bad I lost interest in the series, got to about ep 15 and then just lost interest ended up skipping to the last episdoes just to know what happened at the end

I've just had to drag this thread up as I got home from work today to find this had been delivered. To right it's bye bye vol 1 box! My Gaaard, is this just the best box set ever?! It really is a fine piece of worksmanship. And having had to endure watching England tonight I can now look forward to tomorrow night when I will be sitting through the final episodes of the superb series.
