The president of MAGES and the company behind the 'Scientific Adventure' series 5pb. have announced a bunch of news today.

Original Post:

The fourth game in 5pb.'s Scientific Adventure series is getting two special treatments.

The first one is confirmation that it will receive an anime adaptation while the other is the game will be released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan.

In the psycho-suspense story, after a magnitude-7.8 earthquake hits Tokyo's Shibuya ward on November 6, 2009, a black fire spreads and causes mass panic on the day of the earthquake. The sudden disaster that becomes known as the "Shibuya Earthquake" kills 3,851 people and injures 30,927 more.

The game is set in a reconstructed Shibuya district in October 2015. A string of mysterious deaths occurs in Shibuya amidst the reconstruction. People begin to take notice as the strange events start on the same day that chaos broke out in Shibuya with a certain incident five years earlier. The events are called the "Return of the New Generation Madness."
In terms of anime adaptations for the franchise; Chaos;Head received negative reception, Steins;Gate received positive reception and Robotics;Notes received mixed reception. Will Chaos;Child do better? Who knows.

Updated Post:

In addition to Chaos;Child related news, MAGES president Chiyomaru Shikura have also announced during a live-stream that his novel Occultic;Nine (from his 'Paranormal Science' series) is going to be adapted into a video game.

The story follows nine idiosyncratic individuals. Little incongruities that occur around these nine eventually lead to a larger, unimaginable event that may alter what is considered common sense in this world.
Shikura has pointed out that Occultic;Nine is not part of the 'Scientific Adventure' series.

In addition, Shikura has also announced a brand new visual novel Anonymous;Code during his live-stream. Like Occultic;Code, this visual novel is also not related to the 'Scientific Adventure' series.

The story begins on February 6, 2036 at 06:28:15, when an important place in Tokyo is destroyed. This happens due to a problem in 2036 when computers went on a rampage.

Because an even bigger problem is predicted to occur in 2038, the super computer Gaia creates another Earth using its Earth simulation program. That simulated Earth confirms what would happen in 2038. However, even though no humans were born in that simulation at first, when an Arecibo message was sent to the Earth simulation, humanity came into existence.

Although the researchers were overjoyed, the people within the Earth simulator also create a super computer of their own, and an Earth simulator now exists inside the Earth simulator. The researchers now question their own existence.

UPDATE: More info detailed. For information related to another major announcement Steins;Gate 0, see the main headline on AUKN's front page.

Robotics Notes deserved to do so much better, it really is a good series if you give it a chance - but I guess it really suffered from the SG comparisons.

Which is a shame since it's such a different show. I'm pretty sure Aki is the kind of female character people always say they would like to see more of.

It sounds like a cliche, considering the show is fantastical in a sense, but RN did reality very well in terms of its character relationships - the stuff with Frau was very well handled and imo is one of the best portrayals of an otaku character, male or female, in anime (if you put aside the cheesy leetspeak lines)

I agree (and kind of thought her speech pattern was endearing >_>). Really gave a different context for the SF side of the story compared to S;G.
