In 2012, Monkey Punch's iconic <em>Lupin III</em> franchise received the first brand new TV anime in over twenty five years (excluding the near annual TV specials) courtesy of TMS Entertainment. The wondrously stylistic <em>Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine</em> was directed by Sayo Yamamoto and focused on the femme fetale Fujiko Mine and how she first encountered the now famous cast of the series.
Today, a continuation to the series was revealed. <em>Lupin III: Daisuke Jigen's Gravestone </em>will be released this summer and will be directed by <em>Redline</em>'s Takeshi Koike. This sequel will focus on how the legendary duo of master thief Lupin III and the perfect shot Daisuke Jigen.
