There will be a <a href="http://www.zavvi.co.uk/events/event-anime-double-screening/s.jsf">double-bill screening</a> of retro adventure favourites<strong> <a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=1040">Lupin 3rd: Secret of Mamo</a></strong> (1978) and <strong><a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2272">Space Adventure Cobra</a> </strong>(1982) in the zavvi store at the Manchester Arndale Shopping Centre on Monday 30th June from 6:30pm. It will be a wristband-only event and these wristbands can <strong>only </strong>be picked up at the Arndale zavvi store from Saturday, 28th June.

Damnit. I can't make it. I would give anything to see Mamo on the big screen (subtitled of course) since it's my favourite Lupin movie and a good mix of the style of the original manga mixed with the zany second TV series. I think people who have only seen Cagliostro will be shocked by the different tone of the movie though. You won't see Lupin saving any princess in this movie without wanting a little something extra in return. He is meant to be an outlaw after all. ;)

I'm assuming that the dub they're going to be packaging with this movie is the most recent Geneon dub recorded in 2003. Well it contains the same dub cast as the second TV series had, like all Lupin dubs I've heard the dub actors for Lupin and Zenigata can't seem to grasp that natural flow of humour in the delivery which is essential to any incarnation of Lupin and because of that I advise everyone to stick to watching Lupin subtitled. I also recall the dubbing team taking a lot of liberties with the dialog which was neither necessary or welcome.

An interesting note is that this Lupin movie has had a total of five English dubs making this the most dubbed anime to date.
