Longest manga series you've read so far...

The Boss
What's the longest manga series you read / have so far?

Mine (and I bet a lot of other people as well) is Dragon ball (DB + DBZ 42 volumes) for read and Samurai X for have (28 volumes). - just got the rest of it =D

I've gotten to Case Closed vol. 11 ... that's the furthest I've ever gotten with a series. The Evangelion manga (at 10 volumes) is a close second :]

I've got all of Lone Wolf and Cub which is around 28 300 page volumes. I bought them as they came out which spread the cost out a bit otherwise it's kinda daunting.

After that it's GTO at 25 volumes and then Kare Kano at 21.

Nartuo [at 27], then a significant drop to Negima! at 16. I'm reluctant to carry on/finish any longer series till i've read all the shorter series i've started.

Negima.... Damn it Ken! If you're gonna make a story of 30-odd students, make more character storielines!! XD
Still has a LONG way to go before it ends.

I tend to avoid the really long series, not least because of concerns over storage space. And filler material, which a lot of long-running manga have, pisses me off.

At 15 volumes Maison Ikkoku is currently the longest completed manga I own. Monster will eventually become the longest, though, with 18 volumes in total.

Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo @ 158 tankoubons.

I wish.. I've read all of the first part of Naruto (27), via purchasing and I've read about 25% percent of One Piece, overall, I skipped loads, though. I started again from where the manga was and I'm slowly catching up with it (Reliving the epic moments). From the 27 of Naruto, I own, though - The next longest series is Death Note at 12. Daym, Shounen sure know how to stretch out a series. Quality not quantity.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
# of volumes / pages?
81+

Though I've only read around 53 volumes of it, as I've read parts 1-4 of it, and I stopped half way through part 5. Part 6 hasn't all been scanlated yet and I've read a few volumes of Steel Ball Run.

So you've read ALL 158 volumes of Kochikame? Wait, nevermind, read your post. ;/ There's only a few chapters been translated of it, IIRC.

mm, so how do you like it? =D dumb question, I know... I can't believe anyone is masochist enough to read 50+ volumes of a manga they don't like :) Checked wiki and it says it's been released in US from part 3... Is it worth our money?

I've kept away from Naruto and One Piece and the waves because they're so long.

Current longest, have them, read them:

Lone Wolf And Cub all 28.
Samurai Deeper Kyo at 27 (38 in all)
Vagabond I'll have 27 soon (still ongoing, hopefully)
GTO 25 in all.
Basara 22 (going to finish soon at 27)
Berserk at 21 (ongoing at 32)
Bleach at 21 (ditto)
Dragon Ball at 20 (I'm stuck here)
Ranma 1 1/2 19 (stuck in old left to right volumes)
BOTI at 18 (ongoing at 22)

Anybody know did Viz decide to drop this? I've been a bit curious about the second :D longest running manga at 92 volumes for it's fight scenes, but if they've stopped it, maybe it saves my shelf space for about ten other series lol.

I have volumes 1-5 of JJBA which are done by Viz, they're pretty good, it does give you a BRIEF explaination of parts 1 and 2, but it'd be better if you read them first before buying part 3. Of course Part 3 is worth buying, but you really need to know some of the things that happened before then.

It's no regular Shounen series btw. It's quite violent.

EDIT: Viz are only doing part 3 of JJBA, after that I doubt anything else will be done. Mainly because the characters stands are named after bands and such.
