The company <a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/company.php?id=360">Tezuka Productions</a>, founded by the late <a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=883">Osamu Tezuka</a>, will begin a project to digitise and colour all 150,000 pages of Tezuka's manga, at a speed of 1000 pages a month.
Tezuka's old personal assistants will use colour charts that were used for special colour pages during the orginal manga run, to colour all the manga, to be in keeping with Tezuka's original vision.
The company plans to use the remastered manga for business purposes, especially in their recently opened comic distribution via mobile phone business "Manga no Mushi Deluxe" with the first line-up covering six titles, with that set to expand in the future.

The comparison between the black and white versions to the colour versions can be viewed on Anime News Network's article <a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2007-09-14/tezuka's-company-to-digitize-colorize-all-his-manga">here</a>.

I love Tezuka's work, but I don't really see what colouring it in will add. Just seems like a bit of a gimmick to milk more money from his fans (which seemed to be virtually all of Japan back in the day). :?

Money makes the world go round. :)

One sentence will describe how i feel against this: THIS IS UTTER BLASPHEMY AGAINST TEZUKA'S WORK, IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE COLOURED AND NEEDS TO BE ENJOYED IN ITS ORIGINAL FORMAT!

sorry for the caps but this is just not on
