I'm Dark-Cookieman and I'm all brand-spanking-new here!
I've been in to anime for many years...oooh...probably for about 14 years now. Wow I feel old now (I'm 28 ).
Anyway my favs are -

Tenchi (though not GXP)

There will be more, but I can't think right now.
I'm currently watching Last Exile, but it's not 'grabbing' me.
I tend to buy region 1 DVD's and half of my old VHS is in NTSC format.
I haven't been to a 'meet' or convention, but would like to.
Although not anime, let all be excited that we should be getting a Thundercats CGI movie!
