I've been following this on ANN, the whole ordeal is ridiculous.
1 in 4 people have mental health problems. If we're going to live in a society where we're constantly bombarded by things that immitate fictional goings on that would be illegal in real life, then some people are going to take it too far.
A lot of the facts in this story don't add up though, that being how the sandpit was a foot in depth... the boys friends were too stupid to help him out, and the fact that their parents weren't watching them, etc, etc. It just doesn't seem right.
The only problem I see, is that IF this does get taken to court, and as ridiculous as the law system is in America especially, I just hope it doesn't start Viz doing even more edits, or something. Though that's pretty much out of the window, I guess.
Why am I even worrying about this? I'm not
!
Oh yeah, and condolences for the family and all that...
I'm sure they'll all learn from their mistake of buying a boy head first in a fit of sand...
(I think one of the main things that governments should be doing, in societies like the ones we live in, is investing in mental health. Having counselors and all that. Just look at the suicide rate in Japan, and the murder sprees in America, etc etc. It doesn't take an expert to see that quite a lot of people in this world need some help!)
