Kid dies imitating naruto

I've been following this on ANN, the whole ordeal is ridiculous.

1 in 4 people have mental health problems. If we're going to live in a society where we're constantly bombarded by things that immitate fictional goings on that would be illegal in real life, then some people are going to take it too far.

A lot of the facts in this story don't add up though, that being how the sandpit was a foot in depth... the boys friends were too stupid to help him out, and the fact that their parents weren't watching them, etc, etc. It just doesn't seem right.

The only problem I see, is that IF this does get taken to court, and as ridiculous as the law system is in America especially, I just hope it doesn't start Viz doing even more edits, or something. Though that's pretty much out of the window, I guess.

Why am I even worrying about this? I'm not o_O!

Oh yeah, and condolences for the family and all that...
I'm sure they'll all learn from their mistake of buying a boy head first in a fit of sand...

(I think one of the main things that governments should be doing, in societies like the ones we live in, is investing in mental health. Having counselors and all that. Just look at the suicide rate in Japan, and the murder sprees in America, etc etc. It doesn't take an expert to see that quite a lot of people in this world need some help!)

First thing i have to write is how they call them 'Playmates'... if my 'Playmates' did that to me i really wouldnt call them mates...

Something sounds fishy if you ask me, but owell.

Oh and one more thing, i swear that they ask random people to make comments about the child or people in these kinds of situations ('We asked the hobo who lived down the street and he said that he was a kind child who gave him his sandwiches').
BTW Yes im tired so my post may not make much sense i honestly think im just rambling on now to pass the time before i turn off my computer and get into bed... NIGHT ALL!

I'm sorry but at ten years old you should realise that encasing your head in sand is not a good idea. It sounds a bit dodgy that none of them realised he couldn't breathe. I thought it would be common sense.

This sounds more like murder than an accident. 10 year old children are well aware that oxygen is needed for a human to stay alive and buying someone head first in sand would stop oxygen entering, also forcing sand into the mouth and nose. Only mentally retarded children wouldn't know this.

If these kids watched Naruto they would know that the ninjas heads aren't buried, only their bodies. I'm guessing this excuse is something the kids come up with to fool the stupid local police, which it seems to have done.

...oh well, at least video games weren't blamed for once.

Don't ever remember anyone getting buried head first in Naruto, but surely the kids must've realised that things that happen on Naruto can't possibly happen in real life, even if they are only 10 years old. I'm sorry to say but next it'll be someone almost drowning by trying to copy Naruto's "Walk on Water" technique.

Some people are finding this funny because it's related to Naruto. -facepalm-

Although I'm not one to talk since I do actually laugh at this type of thing a lot, this time it's just.... not funny. At all. It's pretty harsh if anything.

The age at which children are classified, by law, as being "aware" of their actions is 10 (and thus can have a trial). So in my opinion this is more like man slaughter or murder rather than an accident.

Its not a funny matter, but I can't help but laugh at "sand ninjas".

the only part of naruto i can really think of that's related to this sort of thing is gaara's "sand coffin" technique, which you should really be able to tell from the name, isn't going to be good for you.still though, i fell sorry for that poor kid.
