Prepare for feels as there was not one, not two but three major Key announcements today:
The Angel Beats! Visual Novel will set for a schedule release for May 29, 2015. It will entitled 'Angel Beats! 1st beat'. Pre-orders will begin on January 30. Pre-ordering the game will offer an unreleased CD single by Angel Beats! anime band Girls Dead Monster, with the song being titled "Million Star."
The Angel Beats! game adaptation has been anticipated among fans since the co-creator Jun Maeda revealed a possible adaptation way back in November of 2010. 2 years later with barely any updates, Visual Art's President Takahiro Baba brought up the possibility but was not ready at that point. One year later the adaptation was announced, but has been delayed multiple times since.
The anime will also receive a Blu-ray Disc Box with a brand new anime episode called "Hell's Kitchen." The episode, includes an scenario written by Jun Maeda, is described as the second special anime, with the first being the "Stairway to Heaven" short episode. The Blu-ray box is scheduled to be released in Japan on June 24, 2015.
Key Visual Arts also reveal a new anime series called Charlotte, set to air sometime in 2015. This will be Jun Maeda's second anime original work since Angel Beats! five years ago, and will also celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Key.
Jun Maeda is providing the original scenario and scripts for the anime. P.A. Works is animating the series, and Na-Ga is providing the original character designs.
