as our member, Jayme said in the other thread about Jetix using the word Anime. I was pretty shocked, and today. After a nice convo of Digimon with him, I visit Jetix to find out what film he was talking about.

I was shocked to find out that Jetix does use the word, Anime. And look, it says that it's great for anime fans /cue joke.

But seriously, Jetix did actually use the word, Anime. And hopefully, kids will grow to learn that this is anime... if they watch jetix.

But I'm still traumatised that Jetix uses the word

Any opinions?
 
Jetix is definitely coming along in terms of anime on TV. Not great quality anime with edits and such but there are a helluva lotta Naruto, Bo^7 fanatics on the newly founded (by me) Jetix Forum's. This can only help the anime fandom.

ANN reported earlier today as well, that 4Kids' latest license Dinosaur King shall be coming over here for Jetix. I'm not totally convinced they will stick it with their other anime shows, I think they'll leave it like Digimon and Sonic X just airing randomly. Which I suppose is good, since its a more childish audience when I last Wiki'd it.
 
Yeah, I saw an advert for their "anime-block" last night. To be honest, I think the fact that they are making an actual two hour slot just for anime is pretty impressive, although I have a feeling that it might have just been a coincidence and after a while it will be normal shows again. It would be nice if they kept that block just for anime from now on....
 
Maybe Jetix just got fed up with all the emails telling them to call anime shows anime, or maybe they realised anime is becoming more recognised as a term in the UK so feel able to use it.

Jetix hands are tied with censorship through the distributor and through OFCOM, so any edits cannot be directly blamed on Jetix. That's why we ended up with CNX and that was a disastor.
 
I'd be more impressed if they actauly put it at a time that's not totaly being dicked by Easternders, Corronation Street or a combanation of the two.

I watched Naruto and Shaman King on Jetix and I really, really enjoyed them. So, I'm not quite sure what you mean by that ... ?

Horribly Edited [By Jetix] Naruto and 4Kids Shaman King. Thats the usual jist of what he is trying to get across. Its in the kids section and caters for that audience, Albeit a more mature one - preteen possibly. I watch on occasion though, Digimon ROXX.
 
Though being fair, mankin had more or less all it's content left in, of which includes Blood and beating the everloving shite of out someone and then RIPPING THIER SOUL CLEAN FROM THIER BODY AND THEN EATING IT and that is why it's the best dub that 4kids' have produced since Ultimate Muscle.

Actually, nearly every anime fan went overdramatic by the news. It's usually because children TV channel treat it as a cartoon, not anime.

Jetix however is the first children TV channel (in britain at least) to actually use the word, Anime.

Yeah...maybe I'm just too laid back and stuff, but this "shocking news~!" didn't even didn't really strike me as anything major. =/

You realise this is text, He probably wasn't all that fussed. Anyway, Its a fairly big deal. Recognition, Now that if any lil kiddies watching Naruto know where to turn to for more "Yup... Just finished Viewtiful Joe, Now GitS mother******." Haha. Well.. Its not a cartoon anymore, As far as I know, Cartoon Network in America don't even call it anime. Although [adult swim] does as far as I know.
