Japanese DVD release of Gedo Senki with English subtitles

For those desperate to see Goro Miyazaki's Tales from Earthsea (aka Gedo Senki), the quickest option may well be to import the DVD straight from Japan - especially since the July-dated Japanese release contains an English dub (no cast list available) as well as the Japanese language version with English subtitles.

It is assumed that UK publisher Optimum will be releasing Tales from Earthsea in the UK at some point this year, but no specific release date has been confirmed. Further more, there are complex legal issues holding up any potential US DVD release.

The mixed reviews I've heard about this have put me off rushing to watch it, although I'm still interested to see what it's like. I'm guessing Optimum will bring it out in R2 fairly soon, hopefully free from the wranglings that will affect the release Stateside.
