Does it anyone else think it sounds cool when you hear English dialogue in an anime?

These are from Cowboy Bebop:

Where Faye says to Spike in the casino: 'Nice, Jackie.'

Also, this ones from Knockin' on Heaven's Door, when the hacker boy says: 'Spookey Donkey'.

Oh! and another good one is in GITS-SAC, where Motoko says: 'Stand Alone Complex'.

Might just be me, but it just sounds refreshing when I hear some English thrown into the pile. 8)
 
It does sound cool, the way the japanese voices shape the english words always sounds so much cooler than the way we can say it ourselves
 
Like Don Kanojie from Bleach, He speak a mixture of Japanese and English...

There are a lot of other anime that have some english words in, just that I can't be bothered looking for them
 
The weapons in Lyrical Nanoha are actualy voiced by English speakers (as in, were anglophone ex-pats), still doesn't stop them from being Engrished up.
 
I think it can sound funny sometimes, they really sort of wrap themselves around the words.

In some instances it was just odd though, like in Sonic X, where he'd just throw random English words in the middle of his sentences for no particular reason.
 
What i don't get is in every anime song there are english sentances thrown in, its nice and everything but i dont know why they do it.

Because in Japan English is cool in the same way that Japanese is cool in some English speaking countries (note the odd Japanese word thrown into a few English songs, most notably in recent times by Madonna and Gwen Stefani). Add to that the fact that the Japanese borrow a lot of English words for new concepts that have no Japanese equivalent or have a slightly different connotation in the closest Japanese equivalent.

The only countries who would do this are America and the United Kingdom, and perhaps the English speaking part of Canada, but I don't think it's considered cool in any parts of those countries. Heck, even anime fans and otaku complain about people throwing random Japanese words into sentences (Kawaii, Yaata!, Arigatou, etc)

Anyone who said anything like that in real life, especially Kawaii, would <i>immediately</i> be halted from having children in the future.
 
Plus it sounds HOT - Revi in Black Lagoon, towards the end of series 2 speaks english loads and I have to say I love her more for that.
