Hey guys.
It's with a heavy heart I have to tell you that I've been hacked on X. The scammers who took it over have repurposed it as a K-pop focused account and are claiming to sell tickets to BTS if you DM them. They're also sending spotify links asking people to vote for their podcast so don't click any links if anyone has had a DM from me on there.
It was taken over at midnight on Thursday evening/Friday morning just after midnight but it's pretty easy to tell it's not me as I have only ever tweeted 1 k-pop related tweet in over 6 thousand tweets which was about the movie k-pop demon hunters.
This is extremely frustrating because I was building an audience of nice people on there who were really enjoying my thoughts on older titles. I was hoping to build an audience for my twitter and patreon through it.
X make it almost impossible to retrieve a hacked account and keep knocking back support tickets. Premium isn't given any real preference despite them saying this is the case. An online friend who knows how distressed I am about my work being associated with scammers has found a route to report the account via grok in which a real human is taking a look at the case and has been able to give me a reference number. This is the most promising lead I've had in a week.
If you're thinking about paying for premium: my advice........don't. Sent seven support tickets and they just keep saying they can't verify me. I've had the account for 9 years and I pay for it. Surely they can verify my identity from my bank details? Absolute joke and it's really affecting my mental health unfortunately.
