Is Last Exile: Fam, the Silver Wing any good?

Been looking around online & there seems to be a general belief that it isn't as good as the first series, though ANN gave it a reasonable review?

I know Funimation have the US rights what about the UK?
 
They have confirmed a while ago on Twitter, i saw that tweet.

I have updated a while ago the section Anime Schedule in here with both seasons. You should have checked that ;)

I'm helping at the moment AUKN with Anime Schedule and now i think everything is up to date. ;)

Manga have announced they are releasing series 1, and I think they announced (or at least very strongly hinted at) s2 as well.

Thanks was just debating whether it was worth importing if it wasn't going to appear in the UK any time soon.

I have the old ADV releases of season one so wasn't paying much attention to the season one re-release.

Good job Bakum4tsu, just checked the the release schedule and it's a lot more up to date with the latest licensing news compared to the last time I had a look at it!
 
I enjoyed the show a bunch, I think anyone would enjoyed the first series would, too. It was perhaps a little more generic in some of its appeal, but it's definitely a "Last Exile" show, if that makes sense.

Thanks, should be always updated from now on everytime we get some news regarding dates or licenses.

Thanks. Had heard the animation on it & characterisation wasn't as good as the first season?
 
The animation is actually pretty good, but Last Exile obviously had a lot of money put into it at certain times, so it doesn't always match up.

I think the characterization is also fine, but I think a number of the characters appeal in different ways to Lavie or Claus, as I say in a slightly more generic way where it's a case of the character types appealing to people, rather than the characters being as individually well written.
