OK.. 3 years ago we FINALLY got the first installment of InuYasha with the first 12 eps. released on DVD by some rogue distributor... any then.. nothing... not to mention that the quality of the DVD was peepoor..(Cant swear on here  ), so just wondering if there has been any chance of another more well known distributor i.e. Manga or Funimation picking up the rest of the series?? Or are we forever dooooooooomed unless the series somehow (with little hope) makes its way onto UK TV.. UN-editied...
(

Cheers.

FUNi doesn't release stuff over here. There's only Manga, MVM and Beez.

I wouldn't count on it, though. InuYasha's like a 167+26 episode series. And it isn't that popular in the UK either. It's not gonna show up on TV either, unfortunately, since there's not much anime on TV at the moment anyway (Unless Sony or Turner have some £'s to spare )

Your best bet is to import it through PlayTrade/Amazon Marketplace/Up1

I thought we come to the conclusion we should focus our energies on getting shows, like InuYasha, streaming. TV is dead and unnecessary for the anime fandom now. As you said, we've got episodes available straight after their broadcast in Japan - getting stuff on TV is never going to get that speed... and it'll generally be dubbed. Internet is totally the way forward for anime!

I say it unlikely but not impossible. Viz Media in the USA have recently announced they have licensed Inuyasha: The Final Act, which carries on from where the last series finishes. If that's a big hit in the USA it may lead to it being licensed over here. So if they licenses the second series here you assume they would have to license the first series also.

Forget streaming, I'd rather buy anime on dvd or blu-ray.

The "campaigns" to get anime on DVD don't happen, it's a given. They weirdly do for TV, so I just figured that effort should be put towards something actually viable.

Well, the original is being rerun on US TV at 5.30am on Saturdays.
VIZ also has Kekkaishi, which finishes in May. Soooo, it's possible it will be on in June. So, yeah, that is a possibility.
