Inspiration?

Adventurer
Hey there, not entirely sure if this is the right place to put this but here goes, I was wondering which artist/s inspire you the most and why?
Who's artwork do you really admire? etc

For example, I have many but I really admire the duo Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell.
Everytime I see art by them I have to pick up a pencil and sketch something.

So, which artist/s does that for you? ^^

I wouldn't shove my entire force of inspiration onto other artists, because sometimes I just have to draw something, however when I do, I get motivated by looking at Shirow's calendars and artbooks.

They're awesome.

Ive been inspired by a lot of artists, and therefore my style always changes and even now I havint settled on a style.
But overall Id say I the art that really inspires me would be Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and clamp as it was there art which I saw first as an anime fan.

I'm inspired by everything, I guess. But I would like to try and experiment with some different styles, I like Clamp's avoidance of screen tone in favour of pure black and white (think xxxHolic) so I think I'll try some of that.

Oh, and some inspiration comes from that semi-concious state between being awake and being asleep.

I immediately thought of 'Isaac Mendez-Heroes'
*ahem* Anywho, I agree, I couldn't name one artist as my inspiration for ALL artwork I've produced. Even games/films inspire me which I'm sure isn't uncommon.

Im the same.
I really like clamps avoidance of screen tone in xxxHolic(RULES!) and try to work like that a lot.
They do it in a lot of their works and it has always appealed to me.

Funny you mention that actually.

The times I produce around 3-4 pieces a day are the same times when I've already been awake for 30+ hours. :)

It's the caffiene baby!

Music inspires me to draw. While I enjoy others artwork and use ideas in my own work it's music that makes me put pen to paper.

Power metal and thrash works wonders, for me anyway. :)

I know what you mean.
I never draw without my mp3 player.
Puts me in the "zone" :D

My inspiration comes from many things from music, anime or games.
For example, lyrics or how a song is sung for music. Fan-based stuff from anime, like putting characters in different costumes. Games are the same as anime.

Otherwise, I'd try to be as unique as possible, with the experiences and ideas that pop up. Things like Saga of Sin and LFTD are of my own brainchild imagination. While anything to do with Cyline Monia are Warhammer related, but my own adaptation of it. (Also tried this with Ikki Tousen, but never blossomed much.)

Agreed. I don't know why but Heavy metal and thrash works for me.

It works for me because it's fast & technical, melodic death too. :)
