Since a whole spate of (mostly UK) anime conventions (and festivals) news surfaced over the weekend, we have combined it all into one time saving post below.
<li> The popular London MCM Expo, which has in the past attracted some 10,000 - 15,000 attendees, has confirmed its support of anime and manga at this years event (14th & 15th May '04). Recently announced official sponsors include MVM and Neo magazine, with planned cosplay events, a chance to meet the Neo magazine writing team and a Q&A with guest American voice actor Teryl Rothery of Dragonball fame all being in lined up for the festival proper. <li> Auchinawa is an ambitious Scottish anime convention; it will be an event-filled 4 day convention/expo and is being planned for Easter 2006, making room for a maximum of 1,000 UK anime fans. For more specific information, please consult their latest press release or official website.
<li> Dublin City University's anime & manga society are hosting on campus what is said to be the first ever Irish anime convention; EirtaKon 2005, scheduled from the 15th till the 17th of July '04.
