If you were forced to own only ONE anime movie on DVD...

Aion

...what would that film be?

I'm going to make this clear: I want the people who reply to mention ONLY ONE MOVIE. No notable mentions, no different categories, just one anime series. I'm pointing this out since people tend to make a list unless you paint a picture.

The series topic has had lots of replies, so why not a thread for movies? :D

For re-watch value, I'd have to go with the Cowboy Bebop movie. Great action, great animation, great soundtrack, great ENG/JP VA, great everything.

Damn you!! Only ONE movie!!

I can't decide.

5 Centimeters Per Second it is!!

If i cant have Spirited Away or Ghost in the Shell too :p

If this thread had popped up at the same time as the other I'd have given a more creative series in that one. Maybe :D

But as it didn't, Utena movie all the way! I watched it three times the week I got it and I've watched it since. Ahaha.

Probably the original Ghost In The Shell, still one of my all time favourites Batou and the Major have got to be some of the coolest characters in anime.

Man this is hard :?

looking through my collection and the verdict is

Akira, no.......Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, No.......... Castle In The Sky

OK I'll say Akira

It would have to be Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro. I shudder to think about how many hours of my life I've spent watching that film - and how many more in the future. I'm not a big fan of Lupin but Miyazaki infused the film with so much charm and verve.

For anime movies it would have to be...*Thinks for a long while* mabye...*thinks again* probably the Ghost in the Shell movie, the second anime film i ever watched through completely. It holds a special place in my heart :)

Ok seeing as everyone is going in the same direction im going to say Ah My Goddess movie :p

Thought it fit into the story really well, and it was just awesome overall.

Ah, great choice! Castle of Cagliostro is an amazing movie, and it's one I could watch over and over again! :]

The Place Promised in Our Early Days. No anime film is as good as this, but I have extremely high hopes for 5 Centimeters Per Second.

Eh, I didn't really enjoy The Place Promised in Our Early Days all that much, it got far too boring and complicated in the second half. First half was great, though. And I loved Voices of a Distant Star!

I would have to say anything from the Tenchi Muyo series. Trying to work out the family tree alone is enough to keep you occupied for several years.

We are one on this issue, my Irish brother.

First half of TPPiOED = Excellent.
Second half = Complicated and dull.

I also loved VoADS, it being my personal favourite Shinkai effort.

About 5cm: It's Shinkai's worst (aside from the 2nd half of TPPiOD) so far.
