HMV cancels Pure card?

Earlier today, I overheard a discussion between my Mum and my older brother (who works at a HMV in London) about how the company has apparently scrapped the "Pure" reward card as of last week. Apparently, you can still redeem your points, but you can no longer buy a card.

Is this a sign that HMV is soon to be dead?
 
I dunno, sometimes I've got some really cool rewards from HMV's Pure system - like my Pokémon t-shirts and my Zelda ocarina.
 
Probably just a side effect of them being bailed out, going by how some of the other companies in trouble have dealt with loyalty cards recently.
 
Wait you can get gaming related stuff from this? I have a card but didn't really pay attention to the system much =D.

Well, you used to be able to. I've noticed they've REALLY scaled back what they used to offer - now it's almost all money off, download tracks, magazine subscriptions and the odd thing.

In total though, I've got 2 t-shirts, 1 Ocarina, 1 Miyazaki poster and 1 Dragon Quest badge from them in the past though.
