Hi there

theunderfiend

Brigade Leader
Ok so I have already made a few posts but I thought I would make an offical announcement of my arrival

While I have seen a few anime movies such as Akira, Ghost in the Shell and Legend of the Overfiend in the past it was not until I subscribed to the Manga Force magazine that I became a true fan. But now that I am I decided to find some like-minded individuals to share my passion with.

Mind you I am still pretty new to the whole thing so I have not seen as many shows / films as most of you probably have and I do not know a lot of the lingo / jargon used such as Ghibi (sp?) but I suspect i will soon pick it up

Welcome! It's good to see that Manga Force has dragged someone else into our fandom. Hopefully you're not the only one out there.

Which are your favourite shows so far?

R

well from my Manga Force collection I would have to say

Tactics
Tokyo Underground
Tokko
Perfect Blue
Millennium Actress
Blood

and in general

Blood+
Ghost in the Shell SAC
Naruto
Neon Genesis Evangelion
One Piece

There are many more that I like but those are my faves at the moment

edit -

Oh and unlike most purists I actually prefers dubs to subs for the simple reason that it means I don't have to read anything, because if I am reading the subs I am not watching the action and if I am watching the action i am not reading the subs...either way my enjoyment of the show is spoiled. Dubs allow me to just sit and watch and enjoy

"My name is Mihoshi Kuramitsu, and I'm a Galaxy Police officer..." :D
Sorry, that was an AMV Hell moment. (Anime Music Video based on random hularious sketches.)

Well, I've not seen many of the shows you've watched (only Naruto, NGE and GITS), but by the end of your hopefully long visit here, we'll shape you up into a proper otaku (obsessed fan). :p

Cya l8rs!

Well you're either looking for classic anime studio Ghibli, who's films you should definately take a look at - or for the drawing style Chibi. Hope that helps. :)

Edit: Damn Wikipedia putting parentheses in urls.

Heh..probably both

Hmm looking at their wikipedia page I have seen some of Studio Ghibli's films:

Princess Mononoke
Howls Moving Castle
The Cat Returns
Ghost in the Shell 2
Spirited Away

and will be checking out Porco Rosso tomorrow on Film 4 (which is where I saw The Cat Returns and Princess Mononoke)
