Looking at your poll, Nana is the best out of the list, very well done series, a great 'coming of age' story, with some memorable characters as well.

Claymore and School Rumble are also recommended.

If you have seen my past three volume review of K-ON!, I say it's worth a watch, a good Slice-Of-Life series that just lacks in the music department in my opinion.

samurai 7 for action
Wolfs rain for tear jerker
Red garden for dark story ( in a way it is kinda dark)
Claymore but read the manga after youv watched the anime it'll make more sence

Death Nooooooooooooooooote. It's still my second favourite anime series, even though the quality drops a little in the second half it's worth watching for the first 15 or so episodes alone.
