So... I know i've watched 13 or 14 eps long ago and there wasnt another season at that time and now i know that were aired some more episodes and that those were "put" inside the series giving more eps, total 28, and that it were filled between some episodes, giving another final other to the show.

From what i know, those episodes add some more stuff but are quite repetitive right?



So.... i really liked the show at the time and only have the movie in dvd and wanna get the series too, whether its the 14 or 28 eps.


So from what i've been reading this one includes all 28 eps.

Can anyone give me some lights on this? im really confused and unsure what to buy. Thanks guys
 
Each of those DVD sets contains one series of 14 episodes. The second series was broadcast on Japanese TV with the first series spliced into it, that's probably what's causing the confusion. If you can get hold of both of those sets, you'll have all the episodes - though given the price series 1 is going for you might be better off looking to the US releases. The "special edition" single volumes seem to be stupidly cheap now.

Series two has the eight "Endless Eight" episodes, which are either some sort of profound work of genius or the most mind numbingly dull experience you're ever likely to have watching anime. Your mileage may vary.

Yeah the first one contains the original 14 episodes. I have it, and as a fun fact, it was my first anime purchase and my first anime in general.
Good luck finding an R2 copy for a decent price as its's a Beez title and is now OOP.
I would sell you mine, but unless I get the Haruhi BD Box (Which I am heavily considering) I'm not going to part with it.
R1 copy seems to have been delisted @ UP1 too.

Yes i just saw that now. It might be difficult to get first season. Maybe Anime Limited can surprise us :D

Basically Manga have the Movie/S2 rights and Andrew believes that it should be left to Manga to release for consistency.

Local shop doesnt matter cause of from Portugal and £35 its too much in my opinion so I will wait for a comeback, no rush.
 
Anyone who pays £99 for the first season is crazy; I would have thought Manga would be very keen on getting the beginning of the series back in print so they can increase sales of the sequels and do various bundle sets. There's no way they'll let season one stay out of print forever over here (the US is a different story, though even there I can see Funi or Sentai rescuing the lot as soon as possible).

I could easily see Sentai grabbing it since they have K-On and Clannad.
I hope Funi doesn't, if they make any more Haruhi I don't want a repeat of Shana where they dub in house instead of using the original cast. Sentai said they go for consistency.

But yeah, I am surprised as to why Manga haven't picked up the rights to S1 yet. There's still demand for it.

I was thinking about tweeting them too when I was reading. Just put the link and here and i'll support your tweet so they can see it has not just one person looking for it lol

I am gonna start watching again the movie right now and then it came to my mind again this topic that i have created last year.. I guess 1 year after we dont have any news about this... still no license back from the main series... still no one claimed it.. I was hoping Anime Limited could bring this back to the UK....
