happy Lesson

This is one of my fave anime harem's. Its a story and out an orphan who, when turning 16, is allowed back to his families home. However he has trouble at school always fighting and getting into trouble so his five female teachers decide to move into his house (of course they don't ask him they just move in) and become his mama's.

Its a nice twist on the harem style as they are not in love with him for the reason they fancy him but for the reason that they want to take care of him as there son. All there personalities are different and this leads to some brilliant stories - Science teacher mama likes to experiment on him (amnesia ray v1.0 = a giant hammer). Sport mama wants to wrestle. Art mama wants to play cosplay with him. Teacher mama wants him to study. and Health mama wants to look after him and fight demons with him.

Happy lesson has 2 series, the first DVD box set has series one and 3 ova's which are longer verions of certain episodes. There is also a 3rd series-ish called Happy Lesson The Final which is 3 ova's long and I have yet to find it, this is one of my Holy Grails when it comes to anime and I really hope that ADV release this as well someday.

I wanted to mention this anime I have heard ADV are planning to release it in 2007 and its well worth buying

It's one of the more appealing harem anime out there and although I enjoyed it, it wasn't enough for me to watch the follow up series; Happy Lesson Advance.
I bought the R1 thinpak some time ago - I think it was only £21.99. Worth a watch for that kind of money ^__^

Advance is well worth investing in if you liked the first season

Advance is still a fansub only and I haven't been bothered enough to download it! Maybe if I get desperate for something to watch ^__^

Well worth getting, I have also heard there are 3 special episodes called Happy Lesson The Final but as of yet I have not found anywhere that has it subbed

Thanks for the heads up McIcy and Miaka, I've ordered the Happy Lesson collection for £21. I'm going to fit in some harum in between a couple of more serious anime series I've got lined up to watch.
