Halo: ODST and Halo:Reach

Granted ODST is an expansion pack, who's looking forward to these two games?

I'm a massive Halo fanatic, pre-ordered ODST just for the multiplayer beta for Reach!

As for ODST, I'm not big on Halo, but I'm thinking about it, only because of some of the goodies you get for pre-ordering.
 
I've got ODST pre-ordered for the mutliplayer beta as well, though i expect somehow it won't shead to much light on if it covers the events of fall of reach and first strike. If it does then excellent, if it doesn't, then i would like to know what it does cover then. Since reach is only ever covered in the novels.
 
My copy is already pre-ordered and I'm looking forward to another installment of one of my favourite game franchises of recent years...being as how I already have Halo 1, 2 Special Edition, 3 Legendary Edition (the helmet is sitting on my PC right now), the mug, the T-shirt, all the novels, a poster, and 2 pieces of art only released at trade faires or in stores.

Although oddly I'm still LESS obsessive than half the fanbase.
 
At least they're selling ODST as an expansion after they had the cheek to call Halo 2 a sequel :p

Will be interesting to see what a game free of the utterly charmless Master Chief / Cortana combo will be like.

The novels are good if you don't like masterchief being the center of attention, especially Ghosts of Onyx and, more recently, The Cole Protocol. Since Ghosts of Onyx only has him in it for about what, 1 chapter? 2 at the most, and i couldn't say for Cole Protocol, but it focuses on Grey Team.
 
I can't say that the universe of Halo interests me too much, but I welcome anything Halo that isn't using Master Chief, he's a pretty uninteresting character.

He's fleshed out a little more in the novels, obviously, since it actually describes everything, but yeah he is a bit more boring compared to most characters. I'll be happy to see the likes of Linda or Kelly in Reach anyway. Fred too.
