'.hack' should be a familar name to anime fans.

The series finale is coming out in yankland on the 10th of Sep. I still haven't got around to even starting Vol. 2 yet with my TV dying, and now that I've started to replay Vol.1 on the downstairs TV my NTSC PS2 seems to have started making the 'Click of death' noises that I really don't want to hear. I have to be part Jewish.

It isn't the most well known gaming series, very few people post about it online, and I'm sure there's a fairly large amount of people who simply couldn't be bothered with any more .hack games after the fairly poor (and extremely repetitive) first 4 .hack games. But, going on Vol.1, .the .hack//G.U. is better than the original series in just about every area, inlcuding longevity and simply being a lot of fun to play. I'd recommend it to any anime fan since anime fans will feel right at home with the huge eyes and other small details the unknowning would overlook...plus the .hack universe has had 3 anime series thus far.

How many of you on here have got into the .hack//G.U. series???
 
i would love to get it, unfortunately i haven't got any PS2 that could play a US version so i can't =/ i enjoyed the first 4 although yes they where pretty repetitive, the story was decent enough.
 
Import one from VG+ (should be around £87 inc delivery) - I know that someone said they managed to get his through customs without a customs charge! They're excellent at getting stuff to you without extra charges. I wish I'd got mine from them instead of from fleabay...

The story in .hack//G.U. is better, mainly because the characters have personality this time around, Haseo in particular doing a much better job as the leader character than the boring Kite. The only character from the original .hack series that I like is Blackrose.

some of us can't just magic up £87 though ^^

shame i'd like the games too
 
I can't spend £87 on whatever I want myself, I don't get much money. I'd have my dream 32" brand name HDTV, PS3 and Xbox 360 gaming rig if spending the best part of £100 was nothing to me, instead of having no TV after my old one died and no HD consoles. :p

Getting yourself a PS2 that can play NTSC games is worth it - There's too many good games from the RPG genre we've missed out on getting.
