Is anyone else following the fansubs of this? I thought the first episode is a good start to an 'old Gainax' idea told in a 'new Gainax' way (i.e. giant robots and cute girls in space, except it's in the style of FLCL/Abenobashi). It hasn't grabbed me in the same way that the old Top O Nirae OVA did but I was impressed enough to want to continue watching and blogging it to see how it turns out.

Your thoughts?
 
I like it but it is true that you couldn't/shouldn't compare it to the 1st.

I just don't like the wait between episodes, followed by waiting to see which group is going to sub it.

The 5th episode was released in March, but I am still waiting.
 
I predict the sixth (and presumably final) episode will come out during late summer/early autumn time judging by the others.

You have a point there though - it's more of a tribute to the original than a direct sequel.
